Reviewing Performance
We have witnessed the annual disgruntled faces of many in management and leadership roles, as well as those on the receiving end of their employee performance reviews and have specifically designed this module to address some of the most common problem areas.
Consistency in tracking and monitoring performance against objectives throughout the year is sometimes problematic. This results in poor practice, lack of evidence, surprise performance ratings, etc. Leading individuals to disengage and perform poorly.
To ensure we cover the most relevant issues for you, we gather insights from each attendee on what they need to know, improve upon, and what not to cover. We will delve into the use of tools (SMART objectives, AIM and STARs) to assist in reviewing performance, cover the importance of this stage in the cycle of performance management and explore both good and bad practice using videos to cement learnings.
Each attendee will gain the benefit of conducting a positive performance review role play using the ‘Interaction’ guide and be able to implement a structure that works for them. They will also become more sensitive to bad practice (what not to do), and recognise and prevent pitfalls that hinder review discussions. Through practicing self-evaluation the new learnings will become positive habits.
