Smart Micro-Learning

Micro learning modules offer impactful learning whilst minimising time away from the workplace.

The Storm McQueen Micro modules address key learning needs for common problem areas within many organisations regardless of size or complexity.

We sometimes resent having to take a day off the desk for training because work accumulates in our absence.

Micro-learning modules are short, reducing the impact on workload, handouts make the knowledge easily accessible afterwards, and it’s realistic to implement the learning.

AND Micro-learning increases learner engagement, heightens information retention and improves the application of knowledge post-training.

Storm McQueen Micro modules:

Are concentrated into 90-minute modules of impactful learning
Provide fuel for the brain
Provide insights and tools that are easy to implement
Are engaging, interactive, and informative
And target the areas we least prioritise!

What Micro Modules Do We Offer?

SETTING PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

How to successfully define the annual objectives, setting realistic expectations and most importantly gaining buy-in from both parties involved. How to track and measure performance exposing where accountability truly lies. Using effective communication to specify the results that need to be achieved and the behaviours the person needs to demonstrate in order to achieve those results.

REVIEWING PERFORMANCE

This Micro module evokes a positive attitude towards the performance process. Recognising the need for preparation and effective tracking throughout the year. Promoting efficiency and time-saving tactics. Tools to assess their own performance in reviews and what skills to develop! As well as the all-important, do’s and don’t’s.

EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION

Communication is so much more than the spoken word. Here we will explore the subtleties beyond what is said and what messages our body language, intonation, environment are in fact portraying. We will relate this to key skills and emotional intelligence, exploring empathy, reasoning, active listening, being clear on our message and bend the ways in which we react. Effective communication is made up of four different modules: Foundations of Good Communication; Face to Face Presentations; Virtual Presentations; and Written & Verbal Communication.

RESOLVING CONFLICT

We all face difficult conversations at one point or another and managers tend to have more than their fair share. Here we will look at the different types of conflict, and how to manage those situations. There are core skills required to navigate these situations and effectively communicate intentions and resolve. This module is a must for any organisation.

THE CHANGE DYNAMIC

People are naturally resistant to change. This session will delve into the core areas managers/leaders should be aware of to successfully manage and transition people through the change process. We will touch on the change cycle, highlighting how and why people are resistant to change and what you can do to engage and ultimately succeed.

POWERING YOUR INFLUENCE

This module introduces an effective personal influencing model. In a nutshell how to increase engagement and performance, creating relationships, inspiring others, and persuading them to become your champion. Covering both “push” and “pull” styles, and touching on the influencing spectrum: Assertion, Persuasion and Bridging. With some practical tools thrown in.

WORKPLACE MENTAL HEALTH & WELLBEING

Personal mental health and wellbeing is key to performance. People are driven, engaged and motivated when they feel their best. Organisations are driven by their people. And for that to be effective, employee mental health and wellbeing are key. Facilitating discussions on mental health often makes leaders shy away. We will cover the cause and effect, how to be proactive rather than reactive, spots the signs, cognitive training, and the drivers and drains on performance.
