Managing Change in the Workplace

Who likes change? Not many, so why are we surprised that many change programmes fail to deliver the business case benefits, or run to budget, or complete on time; all go for the hat trick and fail on all three!

With boundless energy and optimism equal only to the project sponsor’s, we explore why such optimism is so often misplaced. With a more realistic and grounded viewpoint, we focus on what can be done at a practical level to reduce the risk profile of failure.

This module delivers insights on each stage of the change cycle from a personal, emotional perspective. This covers the perspective of experiencing the emotions associated with change yourself, and helping others to achieve optimal performance when you are driving the change.

This will also provide a number of really helpful tools for managing change and techniques for managing change that can be easily adopted to help reduce the risk of change failure; including Daryl O’Conner’s ”Change Formula”, and avoiding the “Middle Management Black Hole”, amongst others. This module won’t make you the world’s best change management director. But it will equip you with a deeper understanding of the risk profile associated with trying to embed change regardless of the role you play in the process.
